Taraba lawmaker commends constituents for standing with him during trying moments Jethro Yerga, Jalingo

The lawmaker representing the people of Karim Lamido II at the Taraba State House of Assembly, Honourable Anas Shuaibu Didango, has commended the people of his constituency for standing up with him right from the beginning of the 2023 electioneering processes to Appeal court where his victory at the poll was affirmed

Honerable Anas gave this commendation while interacting with journalists in Jalingo, shortly after his victory was affirmed in a judgement of Appeal Court sitting in Abuja.

He narrated that after the rigorous electioneering processess that eventually gave him and his party, APGA, victory over all the political parties in the election, he was dragged to tribunal by his clossest rival, the candidate of PDP, Hon Bobo Bello Bendu. He said from tribunal, they proceeded to Appeal court and through out the period, his people stood with him to see the end.

Hon. Anas lauded the resilience of his legal team who left no stone unturned to ensure that he retained his Victory from the Tribunal up to Appeal Court and called on those who dragged him and his party to court to have a second thought and joing hands with him to build Karim-Lamido of their dream, even as he called on the people of the constituency to pray for him to succeed

“I feel we have come to a point where we need to join hands to build Taraba State of our dream. After all, we all are brothers and there is no reason whatsoever for us to stay apart. Its just our political interests that differs but we can fused our ideas together and move our constituency forward.

“It is the will of Almighty Allah that I have this seat at this particular time. To show you that it is the will of God, you could recall that the General Elections which held on the 18th March, 2023, saw me clearly led all the other Political Parties but then the election was declared inconclusive.

“We stood firm and went for supplementary election on the 15th April, 2023. There too, I won overwhelmingly but my opponent were not satisfied. The candidate of PDP took us to court. We spent whole lots of time but eventually, the Tribunal affirmed my victory here in Jalingo on the 30th of October 2023. I thought that would calm the situation but they proceeded to appeal court to challenge the judgement of the Tribunal

“Thanks be to Almighty Allah, the Appeal court sitting in Abuja, affirmed my victory and the judgement of tribunal on the 22nd of December, 2023. When God say yes, nobody can say no. I am absolutely happy and I want to appreciate the people of my constituency for standing by me throughout the processes”. He narrated.

The lawmaker also commended the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas for his all inclusive policy of governance and for always paying listening ears to all members of the State House of Assembly irrespective of their different political parties.

“As a minority party in the house, I want to appreciate His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for carrying all members along irrespective of their political affiliations. The governor is such a proactive leader who has the people at heart. When I assumed office, I identified the challenges of my constituency and one of the most disturbing one was the issue of insecurity. I approached His Excellency on this issue and immediately, several approaches were adopted and we are now enjoying peace

“My constituency is the largest constituency in Taraba that shared border with Gombe, Plateau and Nasarawa and we often face series of security challenges but since his assumption of office, he is not resting on his oars and seriously at present, those issues of kidnapping and banditry activities which were very common have reduced drastically. With him, I am sure we are going to go far”. He added.

While highlighting some of the achievements he had attained so far, the lawmaker said he had been able to boost water supply across the constituency by repairing about 92 boreholes which some, were abandoned for the past 15 years

He said he had also provided about 22 boats to some communities within his constituency that find it difficult to travel across other areas since the constituency is located along riverine area.

“I also provided 33 network systems that connects communities withing my constituency to make calls easily and I hope to provide more after this yuletide. Aside this, we have fashioned up a scheme through which I assist students in my constituency just to complement the free education policy of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas to mention but just a few”.
