Youths, Women Have 80% Place In New Cabinet, Says SSG

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Taraba, Chief Gebon Kataps, has said the administration of Gov Agbu Kefas has reserved some 80 per cent of the new cabinet for Youths and women as Commissioners, Special Advisers, Assistant in other fields, and Board members, and

Heads of parastatals.

The SSG made this disclosure when the State PDP Chairman visited him on 7 June to congratulate him upon his recent appointment.

The SSG stated that Gov Kefas Agbu's government was departing from the old style where only party members got appointed to political positions.

"The Party has been given 20℅ slots to fill for Commissioners and other political appointees," adding that a letter would soon be written to the party to nominate candidates to fill some vacant political positions.

The SSG further said the governor was determined to assemble individuals with proven integrity and capacity who can add value to the present administration. He equally stated that governance was not going to be business as usual, saying anybody that must work in this administration must be prepared to put in their best to contribute to its vision.

According to him, the governor is eager to hit the ground running and is determined to constitute his cabinet before the end of June.
