Taraba Business School Trains 50,000 Youths, Women

With a resolve to complement Government's efforts in creating job for the unemployed in Taraba State, Taraba Business School has trained over 50,000 youths and women in the State on skills acquisition and other trades.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the School and entrepreneur, Gabriel Olayinka Jalingo, made the disclosure to newsmen in Jalingo shortly after being honoured with a meritorious Award of Excellence.

He said the vision to engage in entrepreneurship was to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths and women with a view to complementing the State Government's efforts in reducing unemployment in the State.

"It will interest you to know that in 2033 alone, we have trained not less than 50,000 young men and women in different skills acquisition and trades at no cost to them," he stated.

"We also know that the level of unemployment in Taraba State and Nigeria is very high," he added.

According to the astute entrepreneur, just recently, the State Government employed about 1,500 people into State Civil Service who are currently under the payroll of the State Government.

"Two weeks ago, I advertised just one vacancy and it will shock you to know that more than 50 people applied for just it. That is to tell you the level of unemployment we have in the State and the Country", he said.

Olayinka, who further pledged to employ about 100 people into his different private enterprises in the State, said such would take place before the end of 2023.

"Before the end of the year 2023, we will be able to employ about 100 people in all the different businesses that we have been able to lay our hands on.

"In addition to that, we will open two more businesses, apart from Taraba Business School which we are currently running. One of the new businesses will be a Micro Finance institution which will assist interested businessmen and women with capital to run their businesses through Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)", he added.

He, however, appreciated the Convener of the Award, Mr. Filibus Daniel, who doubles as publisher and Chief Executive Officer of Single Truth Magazine.

For his part, Mr. Filibus said his Media outfit was out to reward every good work, adding that 

Mr. Gabriel Olayinka had impacted the lives of the people of Taraba State, which earned him the Award.
