PDP Suspends Gassol Local Gov't Chairman

The Care-Taker Chairman of Gassol Local Government Area in Taraba State, Hon. Dan'asali M. B. Biru, has been suspended by Namnai Ward to which he belongs in Gassol Local Government of Taraba State. The ward EXCO accused him of anti-party activities.

In a letter signed by all its members and exclusively obtained by Taraba News, the EXCO accused the Caretaker Chairman of working against the Peoples Democratic Party during the election.

During the ward EXCO meeting held on 28 April 2023, the caretaker chairman was suspended with immediate effect and ordered to hand over all party properties in his possession.

The letter signed by Ismael Usman, the secretary of the ward, copying the PDP State Chairman, stated, "Your suspension is as a result of your anti-party activities during the just concluded General elections where you were seen openly campaigning against our great party in all the categories of the elections, to the extent of physically attacking one of our party agents which caused our party to lose in your polling unit. 

"This is in clear contravention of Section 58(1)(f) of the PDP Constitution."

*LETTER OF SUSPENSION*

1. We, the PDP Executives of Namnai Ward, Gassol Local Government area of Taraba State in our Meeting held on the 28th day of April 2023 hereby resolve as follows:-

a. That you (Hon. Dan'asali M.B Biru) are hereby suspended indefinitely from membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.

b. You are hereby directed to hand over all party's property (if any) in your possession to the Namnai Ward PDP office forthwith.

2. Your suspension is a result of your anti-party activities during the just concluded General elections where you were seen openly campaigning against our great party in all the categories of the elections, to the extent of physically attacking one of our party agents which caused our party to lose in your polling unit. This is in clear contravention of section 58(1)(f) of the PDP Constitution.

3. Your suspension is under section 59(1)(d) of the PDP Constitution.

4. Based on the foregoing, you are hereby suspended in the overall interest of our great party (PDP).

5. Attached herewith is the minute and signatures of the party executives approving your suspension.
