Though Highly Dependent On Men, Women Are Society Builders By Debby Paul

It has come to be known that when society associates women MORE AND MORE with moral issues, it's first because women are indisputable builders of society, and because they are mostly on the receiving end of almost everything.

If a man is promiscuous, his promiscuity does not lessen his value in any way, neither does the number of his body count make him less of a man. Why is that so? It's because a man's value isn't attached to his body in any way.

On the contrary, if a woman is promiscuous, she is considered a woman of less value. This is because chastity is a quality that is upheld when it comes to the feminine gender. It is an inbuilt African nature towards women right from a tender age. ©DebbiePaul.

The value of a woman lies in her body as well as in other qualities of her. No parents would love to see their daughter tagged as a "Public Whore," and no man would love to know the number of men that have seen the nakedness of his woman.

Without mimicking words, know it today that as a woman, your nakedness carries elegance, graciousness, purity, excellence, respect, and divinity. The moment any "Tom, Dick and Harry" can get easy access to your gracious nakedness, your value drops and you become a stereotype.

If everyone has seen a glimpse of what you look like without clothes on, even small area boys, where then is your dignity?

A man smoking in public can be easily overlooked but a woman simply holding a stick of cigarette will never be easily overlooked. In the Bible, why was the man not dragged to Jesus for immorality alongside the woman who was caught in the act of adultery? Can adultery be committed by one person? Do you now see the difference? This is why the promiscuity of a man and that of a woman can never be judged the same.

Society generally expects women to correct the little ills of men and fill up in some cases. Even nature has made it this way in certain cases.

When people see how lousy a woman is, everybody goes on saying, "What will she teach her children? This one is not even fit to be a mother." Does it mean that a man is not obligated to teach good morals to his children as well? No, he is but people will ask more questions to the woman because they expect her to have the right morals to nurture her children and help reduce the ills of the society.

The moment a woman ceases to have shame, she becomes a stereotype or she's profiled and her chances of getting married are limited. Every woman wishes to get married, so, when her chances diminish, she becomes bitter or desperate, no matter how rich she is. Look at some of our society's celebrities who are divorced, single parents, or even those that are over 35 and yet to be married.

Society puts value on a man by his financial and emotional stability. But MORE is expected of us women. Society cares less about a woman's independence, money, or societal status, but about her ability to maintain a home, nurture morally upright children, maintain her marital life, and turn the HOUSE her husband gave her into a HOME.

So, when people call out the ills of women, don't be quick to say, "It goes both ways or vice versa" because it never goes both ways for the men. A man can do anyhow and get away with it but for a woman, you'll get trapped.

Also, don't ever wrestle for the same standards with men. God created them differently and we can never be equal to them!
