Her resignation letter stated her decision to rejoin her colleagues as a floor member, ending her brief but historic leadership. Deputy Speaker Hon. Fatai Bola also resigned, clearing the path for Obasa's formal reinstatement.

The development has sparked outrage among some lawmakers and observers, who accuse Tinubu of undermining legislative autonomy. Critics argue that Tinubu's involvement is a sign of a broader power play within Lagos politics, with some pointing to his influence over the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the APC's highest decision-making body in the state.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar condemned the move, calling it a sign of "selective machine politics." As Obasa prepares to resume leadership, the Assembly remains divided, with questions lingering about the future of governance in Lagos under Tinubu's shadow.
