Benue Police Arrest Teenager for Alleged Incest

Makurdi, Benue State - The Benue State Police Command has arrested a teenager, whose identity has been withheld, for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship with his stepmother.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Sewuese Anene, the arrest was made following a complaint filed by the stepmother's husband, who is the teenager's father.

The PPRO stated that the father reported that his son had been engaging in an illicit affair with his stepmother, which he discovered after noticing suspicious behavior between the two.

The police spokesperson added that the teenager has confessed to the crime, stating that he was coerced into the relationship by his stepmother.

The stepmother, whose identity has also been withheld, has been arrested and is currently in police custody.

The Benue State Police Commissioner, Mr. Wale Abass, has assured that the matter will be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law.

The incident has sparked outrage in the community, with many calling for severe punishment for the perpetrators.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
