Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has commended the leadership of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, describing it as a demonstration of the transformative impact of visionary governance.
Dr. Kefas, who was in Rivers State on Thursday to inaugurate a 6.55km road project, highlighted the significance of the development for improving transportation, boosting local commerce, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
“This project reflects a commitment to ease transportation, stimulate economic activities, and uplift the lives of the people,” said Kefas. “By completing this road, Governor Fubara has shown the transformative impact of visionary leadership. As we drove through, I saw the genuine joy of the people waving and celebrating. This is the result of good governance—listening to the people and solving their problems.”
Dr. Kefas also emphasized the importance of collaboration among governors, stating, “Together, we can inspire our people, improve their lives, and leave lasting legacies in our states.”
Speaking at the inauguration of the Okania-Ogbogoro-Mgbaraja Roads project in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Governor Fubara reiterated his administration’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and improving residents’ quality of life.
“What we are doing here today is simple: Promise made, promise fulfilled,” Fubara declared. “During the campaigns, I saw the terrible state of these roads and made a promise to fix them. Today, I am excited and fulfilled to see this promise kept.”
Fubara assured the community that his administration would not abandon any project it starts, emphasizing that governance is about improving the lives of the people.
Residents expressed overwhelming gratitude for the road project, which they described as a long-awaited solution to years of neglect.
Chief John Chukwu Oka, a community leader, said, “This road has been a headache for over ten years. The completion of this project has brought joy to everyone in our communities. Governor Fubara has done a remarkable job, and we fully support him.”
Barr. Okekemzi Ihunda, another resident, praised the governor for remembering Ogbogoro and Mgbaraja communities, saying, “This road has been impassable for years. Today, it is a reality, and we are grateful. We pray for the governor’s continued success.”
